Everlasting Love

Personally for me the only representation of vampires in stories that I love very much is the ones featured in the Immortals After Dark series by Kresely Cole. Honestly, if you haven't read any of her books you are so missing out!

There are three types of vampire factions featured in her books and they are Dacians (the old traditional vampires that don't feed on living blood), Forebearers (human turned into vampires who forebear from drinking from the flesh) and the Hoarde (vampires who drink from the flesh while gaining the victim's memories/dreams and going insane and have red eyes as a result)

Each male vampire, when frozen into immortality, walks as the living dead until he meets his fated Bride (the woman he will spend eternity with). When he encounters his Bride for the first time he experiences a process called Blooding where his body will be rendered alive - his heart will start pumping, breath/air will fill his lungs and he will have sexual urges.
