Here, Have A Mirror!

Something really hilarious happened not so long ago.

My mum uploaded a picture of my dad onto Facebook and he was sleeping on the sofa. Mum takes pictures of things like that purely for fun if you know what I mean. It's just a spot of harmless fun. So, then one of my family members opened up her big, fat mouth. She made the comment of "Oh, he looks SO old here!"

Now, this "family member" (and I use that term quite loosely), she's not much of a proper part of the family despite the fact she's one of my second cousins and she doesn't keep in contact with us and/or invite us around. Also she's a trouble maker and she has demonstrated this a few times in the past. To me, she's just an outsider and she's definitely not a part of my close family.

And for her to call my dad old like that when she's middle aged and her physique is fairly large is just plain terrible. I mean, there's no need to call my dad old because he looks rather young for his age and also he doesn't have a head full of grey hair (nor has he dyed it for that matter.)

So, I decided to use my smartass attitude all because I wanted to be a bit sardonic as such. This is what I put as my status: "Don't you know? Age is nothing but a number? I don't consider any of my family old because they are still young at heart "

Now, I think this must have hit the mark because of two things.

1. She said "Speak to me, not like this." (to which she even liked her remark on my status - how hilarious is that )

2. She sent me a private message, saying "I didn't say he's not young at heart, did I?"

I'm not even going to bother to indulge in her games really. However a part of me would love to say to her "Well, how about if I call you old and ancient? You wouldn't like that at all because you would consider my behaviour to be rude in your eyes. So kindly next time when you call my dad old, maybe you should look at yourself in the mirror."
