i.

In this heavenly world
They proclaim me as a saint;
Embodying all that is holy
In which I find unearthly
Beauty among silken clouds.

It goes without saying
I'm revered as a winner -
A colossal champion and
It's because of these reasons...

I cripple the poor man's back,
I entangle the naive with deceit.
But most of all I keep what is
Mine when I usurp possessions.

ii.

In this hellish cesspool,
I am known as a shameless sinner;
Inheriting most undesirable traits
That bears millions of scars
Due to my fascination with fire.

All my life I've been told
I'll never amount to anything -
A loser, a master of failure -
Because of the things I do...

I heal the decrepit spirit,
I am the voice of the unheard.
But what's important is I remain
A role model to the uninspired.
You can tell a lot from a person judging by their actions, not by what they perceived themselves to be.

If you met someone who looks so beautiful and who has a kind face, sometimes you have to dig a bit deeper beneath the mask they wear. They can appear to be good when they secretly do evil things.

It's best to trust those who come from humble backgrounds, who aren't perfect in any way or form whatsoever. Even if they make mistakes from time to time, you can trust them because they're actual human beings.

This was a lovely read! I enjoyed how you described the personas through appearances then devled into their actual personalities, contrasting what you were led to believe. The way you structured and worded the verses makes it interesting, and I can see a clear contrast between both personas points of view. The first thinks "Be mean because I can" while the other thinks "Be nice I can be". Great job!

By the way, the explanation in your author's comments wasn't really necessary, but did help get the message through.
