Stamp request for :iconkrimsonfury: He wanted a stamp saying "Retribution and Redemption are total opposites"

Okay, so I'm gonna be a little philosophical about this. Let's take a look at the meaning of these two words.

Retribution is purely another word for revenge. Every human being is capable of wanting to avenge something particularly when they feel they have been wronged by someone else. It's a primal urge in which a person is driven by strong ideals about justice and their anger is what drives them to act upon strong feelings/emotions. There are many reasons to seek vengeance against a person - one of them is the victim's ego or/and self esteem have been ripped apart and because of that they want to regain it by turning the tables.

On the other hand, redemption is a bit more complex in terms of it's harder to achieve than retribution. To redeem is the ability to be more forgiving and compassionate. You can either choose to rally your hate campaign against someone who has mistreated you, or you can forgive them and most importantly yourself. By letting go of the hatred and bitterness you can start afresh and make self improvement in your life.

From my own experiences when someone has wronged me it's a challenge for me as it's out of my hands and I have no control of the situation. Admittedly it does take me a while to get over the pain and wrath I feel and most often I'd hate them with a passion. In other words I'm more prone to rarely forgive as I'll remember the hurt. But then after a while I just find it so tedious to keep on rehashing the memories and I use that as a motivation to learn and hopefully become more better as a person.

Do any of you find yourself as the vengeful type or the forgiving type in certain situations?

Not bad. The phrase is interesting, but the colors clash a bit.
